Las Vegas Bowl Betting Odds, Picks, and Predictions
Host Randy Mann takes us out to the opening Bowl Game of the 2013/2014 NCAA Bowl season located in the City of Sin, to define if “what happens in Vegas really does stay in Vegas”. Oddsmakers currently have the Royal Purple Las Vegas bowl odds set at USC -6 over the Fresno State Bulldogs.
In this video our Barstool Best Friend and Cocktail Creator Randy breaks down the Las Vegas Bowl betting matchup between two West Coast squads looking to end the 2013 campaign on a positive note. Both sides can and will be looking to light up the scoreboard with high octane passing offenses in what should be a wild west shoot out. While the historically lauded USC Trojan team is getting the oddsmakers nod, The Mountain West Champion Fresno State Bulldogs team came just one game shy of crashing the BCS party finishing the season with just one loss. Lead by Heisman candidate Derek Carr, the Bulldogs offense quietly sat at the top of many of the NCAA’s offensive categories in 2013.
On the other side of the coin toss will be a USC Trojan team that is a traditional NCAA Football power broker. However, the 2013 season featured a different Trojan team than the average Football fan is accustomed too. The USC Trojans version 2013 featured a low scoring offense and a porous Defense. That early season lack of performance got head coach Lane Kiffin fired after only 4 games. After the sacking of Kiffin occurred, interim staff lead the Men of Troy to a respectable 2013 season racking up nine victories versus four losses. Add to that, the post-Kiffin squads resume includes an upset win over the Rose Bowl bound Stanford Cardinal.
This game will be a fast paced and fun game to kick off the 2013 Bowl season that will see two solid teams look to add some legitimacy to their 2013 performances. For the Bulldogs it will be a stamp of authenticity for a late season letdown that cost them a BCS payoff and ever so important National exposure. For the Trojans, a win will be a positive note to build for the 2014 Season and restore pride to the program.

LAS VEGAS BOWL:
Howdy & Welcome to Barstool Blathering…
Where we mix sport & wit together like a cocktail of the good, the bad & the ugly of a Hot Vegas Happy Hour –
Let’s go Royal Purple Vegas Bowling shall we…
Sounds Kings & Queens Kinda Kinky don’t it!
Well, let’s keep our filthy rotten minds out of the Vegas gutter and get back to football—
Even though Royal Purple manufactures High Performance lubricants… and what happens in Vegas Stays in Vegas– It’s not exactly what you’re thinking—
It’s Motor Oil People! Motor Oil!
The Royal Purple Vegas Bowl features the mighty USC Trojans and the barely known- high octane offense of the Fresno State Bulldogs.
Ranked 20th in the nation, The Dogs and quarterback Derek Carr had an impressive season, suffering only one loss to the equally unknown Spartans of San Jose State– Had they gone undefeated, the Dogs would have played BCS Buster for sure.
Carr threw up record numbers for Fresno, leading a country of quarterbacks with 4,866 yards and 48 touchdowns with only 7 INT’s. Kid is Solid!
But, he’ll face one of his toughest opponents yet against a team that is still trying to define its 2013.
USC fired Lane Kiffin midseason—gained a new identity & some momentum after Bayou Boy Ed Orgeron took over—winning 6 of the next 7 games– only to lose to UCLA in the final game of the season— days later a new coach is hired for next season prompting Orgeron to resign.
USC’s bowl team will see their 3rd coach of the season led by offensive coordinator—Clay Helton—who hopes to go 1-0 during his very brief coaching tenure.
How change affects the Trojan mindset remains to be seen, they’ve experienced plenty this year, but nevertheless this should prove to be a fun game to watch as Bowl Season gets under way in Vegas Baby!
The 25th Ranked Trojans are favored by 6 points as USC aims for a 10 Win season, but it won’t come easy against the hungry Bulldogs.
Not only is this the last game of the season for each team… The two face each other again in the first game of next year’s season—giving this pair of dog-fights all the more bite.
I think USC is capable of handling change considering their experience with it—
The Trojan defense will shut down Carr and their ‘O’ puts points on the board. I like the under and USC to cover.
That’s all for now—be sure & check out BETDSI for your odds.
And tune in next time for our Bowl Season Round up….
Til’ then, I remain….
