Battle Of The Disappointments On Monday Night Football When Eagles Host The Panthers

Two teams with high hopes that have been crushed this season play tonight when the Philadelphia Eagles (3-7) host the Carolina Panthers (2-8). Eagles QB Michael Vick is still out from a severe concussion throwing Nick Foles into the fire once again. The QB’s tough outing last week has BetDSI Sportsbook listing the visiting Panthers as favorites tonight.

Last week the Eagles were routed 31-6 in a total one sided beat down by the Washington Redskins. Nick Foles in his first start went 21-46 for 204 yards and two interceptions both on his first two drives. LeSean McCoy had the most productive day out of the offense with 15 carries for 45 yards, and 6 catches for 67 yds.

Philadelphia’s defense didn’t fair much better being shredded for 361 total yards, 169 rushing, and 192 passing. Washington’s rookie QB RG3 had a career day going nearly perfect 14/15 for 200 yards and 4 touchdowns. Simply put it was a nasty one sided exchange led by their rookie QB Foles which the Philly fans have been clamoring for most the season as recently injured Michael Vick struggled.

A very disappointing season for Panthers which will probably spell the end of head coach Ron Rivera short tenure as HC in Carolina didn’t get any better last week. They did put up a good match-up but only to lose in overtime 27-21 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Panthers sophomore QB Cam Newton played well throwing 16 completions on 29 attempts for 252 yards and a score. Carolina managed to get a good amount of yards on the ground with Jonathan Stewart running 15 times for 43 yards and a score, and Cam Newton running the rock 11 times for 40 yards.

Look for the Carolina Panthers to cover the spread Monday night as they played good against a really tough Buccaneers team last week. While the Philadelphia Eagles were routed by the Redskins unable to put up hardly any points with an inept offense and an equally bad defense. Cam Newton is the better QB in this match-up by far, and despite the records the Panthers are also the better team at this point.
