Bellator 104 and November PPV Coming up!

This Friday Night, Bellator 104 airs from Cedar Rapids, Iowa with a card that features this season’s welterweight tournament semi finals. The welterweight tournament has particular importance this season, as it appears that current 170 lb titlist Ben Askren may be heading out of the organization, leaving the tournament titlist just a win away from the title. Bellator also announced the full 11 fight card for their November 5th PPV debut featuring Tito Ortiz versus Quinton Jackson.

The first bout of the welterweight tournament features Bellator veterans Brent Weedman and Rick Hawn doing battle. Hawn is returning to welterweight after competing at lightweight, and he owns a win over Weedman in the Bellator cage already, so look for Hawn to be favored in the fight.

The second bout features the ‘War Machine’ as he takes on Ron Keslar. Keslar has a nice little five fight winning streak going, but the War Machine is 2-0 since taking all of 2012 off and seems to be more focused than ever. Look for War Machine to run rampant.

Bellator also announced the complete card for their first ever PPV, scheduled for November 5th. The card is headlined by Jackson-Ortiz, and the current lines see Jackson favored in the fight at (-250), with the comeback on Ortiz art (+190).

The other line that is out there sees 155 lb titlist Michael Chandler favored (-205) over Eddie Alvarez (+165) in a rematch that has high expectations for fireworks.

The organization announced that 145 lb champion Pat Curran will be facing Daniel Strauss in a title defense, and that they are filling an ‘interim’ title at Light Heavyweight while current champ Atilla Vegh recovers. The interim title bout is a rematch featuring King Mo and the man that KO’d him, Emanuel Newton. Although he has a win over King Mo under his belt already, look for Mo to be favored rather heavily in that match.

The Curran – Strauss bout is likely to at least open with a competitive line, with Curran favored. Strauss is a good fighter, but Curran has really emerged as a dominant 145 lber.

The Bellator reality series FIGHTMASTER final between Joe Riggs and Mike Bronzoulis. Both men are in the midst of short streaks as they try to recover from losing streaks that saw their careers go downhill. Riggs is younger and more experienced, which spells a bad combination for Bronzoulis. Look for Riggs to be favored here.
