Cheick Kongo is a slight favorite over Peter Graham heading into tonite’s Bellator Heavyweight tournament final.

Bellator 107 is tonite at the Winstar World Casino in Thackerville, Oklahoma and the show features the finals of three of the season 9 tournaments that have been going on.  The heavyweight final pits Cheick Kongo against Peter Graham, while Travis Marks takes on Joe Warren in the Bantamweight class and Mikkel Parlo faces Brennan Ward in the Middleweight division.  The finals are expected to be competitive, as no one is favored by a great deal when it comes to the odds.

In the heavyweight tilt, Kongo sits as a favorite at (-140) with the comeback on Graham at (+120).  Kongo comes with his UFC experience, but Graham has peeled off a nice eight fight winning streak and his striking has led to several short fights.  Kongo can be aggressive,  but he gets sloppy, like he did against Pat Barry.  Graham does have what it takes to take out Kongo by testing his suspect chin.

At Bantamweight, Joe Warren is favored (-145) against Travis Marks (+125).  Warren is one of Bellator’s poster boys, but he as stumbled losing matches as he adapted to Bellator rules.  Warren was featured in the FIGHTMASTER reality series, and though no one saw it, this indicates a commitment to pushing him by Bellator.  Marks is a non descript 2-1 in Bellator and 21-4 overall.  He is a veteran at MMa and that has been the bugaboo about the likes of Warren and also King Mo, and that is that they get caught by solid veterans, and that is what Marks is.

The Middleweight tournament has Mikkel Parlo installed as the favorite (-170) against Brennan Ward (+145).  Both men have one loss to go with 11 and 8 wins respectively, and both are 3-1 under the Bellator flag.  Parlo is from Denmark and he has fought two grueling decisions in his last two outings.  One of them took out Brian Rogers, who is a veteran who was likely one of the favorites heading into the tournament.

The undercard also has lines on some fights.  The most interesting fight features Edson Berto as a big (+390) underdog to Bellator veteran Patricky Freiere (-500).  Berto is a veteran, and he is the brother of former boxing world champion Andre Berto, so as an athlete, he will be in the fight.
