Bellator 108 is this Friday Night, November 15th and it hails from the REVEL Casino in Atlantic City with a main event of Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson taking on Joey Beltran. Vitaly Minakov challenges Alexander Volkov for the Heavyweight title in a bout that sees the inner face Cheick Kongo. The card will also see the conclusion of Bellator’s season 9 Featherweight tournament as Patricio Freire takes on Justin Wilcox. Wilcox and Freire fight for the six figure paycheck and the right to face newly minted champion Daniel Strauss, who captured the title from Pat Curran in recent weeks. Let’s take a look at the match-ups.

The lines should start hitting the books today or tomorrow at the latest, but Bellator still doesn’t get a lot of advanced lines for their cards. ‘Rampage’ was a roughly 2 to 1 favorite going into the much ballyhooed PPV matchup against Tito Ortiz before that match was scratched.
Bellator had their backs to the wall, as Jackson’s MMA debut was a must for them. Enter journeyman Joey Beltran, who will be a much bigger underdog than Ortiz was when this one comes out.
The heavyweight match up between Russians Minakov and Volkov is an intriguing one. Minakov is a perfect 12-0 and he has been knocking people out, but Volkov won a Bellator tournament and at 6’7 inches tall, he provides a lot of match-up problems for opponents. This is going to be close to a pick ‘em fight and is likely to be very competitive.
A lot is made that two Russians are fighting, but that is nothing. When Eddie Alvarez fought Michael Chandler in their recent barn-burner for Bellator, it was two Americans fighting. This match between the two Russians has the potential to be a barnburner as well.
In the Featherweight finals, it is hard to see anything but a big line in favor of Patricio Freire. Wilcox is a tough veteran, and he has won 2 in a row to get here, but Freire is a veteran of these Bellator tournament whose only losses are to Joe Warren and Pat Curran. Wilcox may have a size advantage, having competed at 155 lbs before, but Freire will use his speed and aggressiveness.
