Big Brett Rogers brings his Double D's to Bellator.

Bellator continues their season 7 with Bellator 75 this coming weekend in Hammond, Indiana.  The feature is the start of Bellator’s Heavyweight tournament, with the Eric Prindle vs. Thiago Santos that was cancelled at the end of the last tournament rescheduled for the opening round.  The tournament also features the 2nd fight under the Bellator flag for veteran Brett Rogers, who takes on Alexander Volkov.  The tournament is rounded out by fights that feature Richard Hale taking on Mike Wessel and Mark Holata squaring off against Vinicius Queiroz.

If Alexander Volkov wins the tournament, break out the belt!  If not, Bellator President Bjorn Rebney may be better off gifting the tournament champion with a heavy duty bra, as the tournament really is devoid of athletes and name recognition.  Volkov, at 6 foot 7, is tall and could make Lightheavyweight, and he brings a good record of 16-3 against mainly european competition, however he draws Rogers in the opening round.  Rogers is a big boy, has been in with top names, and must be motivated for this chance.

Ridiculously, Eric Prindle versus Thiago Santos has been booked again.  Their first outing was a no contest and Prindle has pulled out of the rematch several times.  When it was finally about to happen, Santos could not make the 265 lb weight class limit and the bout was scrapped.  I look for Santos to win the bout when it finally goes down, as Prindle really shows no heart.  But it is a testament to how thin the weight class talent pool is that Bellator would have either man back, as they have done nothing but incur cost to the company and bring absolutely zero fans.

I am going to strongly recommend that the Indiana State Commission sanctioning this tournament make an exception for Mark Holata.  Please, I cannot urge them strongly enough – they must allow him to wear a shirt so that the public viewing of his gut and tits is limited.  No one cares who is going to win the last two tournament fights.

A finals of Volkov and Prindle is highly unlikely, which means Bellator has replaced retired champion Cole Konrad with someone of equal girth.  This tournament is a fat fetishist’s dream, Viacom must be so proud!
