Bills Vs Browns Thursday Night Football Prediction

Bills Vs Browns Thursday Night Football Prediction

For our Thursday night NFL match-up we have the less than stellar Buffalo Bills vs Cleveland Browns. Yet despite both teams not being very good they are both coming off upset wins last week and both stand at a 2-2 thus far in the season.

The Buffalo Bills shocked the Baltimore Ravens this weekend 23-20 at home. In reality the game was more handed to them by Ravens QB Joe Flacco who tossed a career worse 5 interceptions than the Bills superior play.

Buffalo’s rookie QB E.J. Manuel didn’t have a good showing going 10 for 22 for 167 yards a touchdown and two picks. The Bills running game did enough to capitalize on the mistakes with Fred Jackson and C.J. Spiller combined for 164 yards and a touchdown.

The Bills defense owned this game allowing just 24 rushing yards, making 4 sacks, and 5 interceptions. Rookie linebacker Kiko Alonso had 5 total tackles and two interceptions. Safety Aaron Williams also had two interceptions with two tackles, and defensive back Jim Leonhard also came down with and interception one of Joe Flacco’s many gifts of the day.

The Cleveland Browns in their upset beat the traveling Cincinnati Bengals 17-6 at home. Making his first start for the Browns was fifth year QB Brian Hoyer who played excellent going 25 of 38 for 269 yards and two touchdowns. He did so without the benefit of a threatening rushing attack as Willis Mcgahee led the team with just 46 yards on 15 carries.

Just like in Buffalo’s upset the Browns owe a lot of credit for victory to their shut down defense who allowed only 63 rushing yards and not a single touchdown all game. Rookie linebacker Barkevious Mingo made 4 tackles and a sack while cornerback Buster Skrine had the games only interception.

This is a tough match-up to pick as I like the Cleveland Browns to beat the Buffalo Bills but I do not like them at a high money line purchase. Nor do I like Cleveland by more than a field goal so with all of that I have to take the Bills at +4 ½ for this game.
