Boston Red Sox Look To Continue Winning-Streak Against White Sox

The AL East leading Boston Red Sox look for a three game win streak when taking on the Chicago White Sox today. Currently 7-3 over their last ten games the Red Sox are doing everything to end the season strong while the Chicago White Sox hope to do enough to get out of the basement with the Twins having just two more wins than them.

Starting on the mound for the Red Sox is left hand pitcher Felix Doubront who is 10-6 with a 3.74 ERA on the season. Over his past 10 he has been really good with a 6-3 record and 3.08 ERA. Sometimes he does get into trouble early and gets pulled before the sixth but when he’s on he is a really tough pitcher to grab a win from.

The Red Sox offense has been lighting up scoreboards the past week 37 total runs their last six games. Right Fielder Shane Victorino has been on fire with 4 home runs and 11 RBI’s the past week. Short stop Dustin Pedroia and first basemen Mike Napoli have both knocked in six RBI’s with a bunch more contributors over the last week making the Sox offense very potent.

Taking the hill for the White Sox is rookie pitcher Andre Rienzo who is 1-0 with a 4.21 ERA in his first six starts. He has put in 6 innings or more in 5 of his first 6 starts and has pitched well thus far. Jumping his ERA up was his last performance which was his worst thus far allowing 5 earned runs over six innings against the Houston Astros.

Chicago’s offense has been good the past week with six hitters batting over .300 including left fielder Jordan Danks who is hitting .462 with 2 home runs six RBI’s and right fielder Avisail Garcia who is batting .455 with two homers with 6 RBI’s in the past week.

While the Chicago White Sox offense has been better the past week than it has been most of the season the Red Sox offense has been better than most teams most of the season. With Chicago marching up a rookie pitcher who is coming off a rough outing against the lowly Astros I have to take the Red Sox in this match-up.
