Boxing is on the calendar for March at BETDSI, headlined by next weekend’s Saul Alvarez versus Alfredo Angulo Light Middleweight match-up. Right now, Alvarez is a sturdy (-865) favorite, with the return on Angulo at (+600). Angulo is a respected and tested fighter who comes forward the whole time and wants to get into a slugest. Known as ‘El Perro’, he likes to make fights ugly and outlast his opponents in a war. Unfortunately for the ‘dog’ (in more ways than one he is a ‘dog) Alvarez is coming off the first loss of his career, and everything about ‘Canelo’ says he will be prepared to make a strong bounce back.

On March 15th in Puerto Rico, Juan Manuel Lopez returns as an underdog at (+180) as he faces Daniel Ponce De Leon (-210). In early 2011, Lopez was undefeated and edging up world pound or pound lists and appeared to be headed to superstardom. Since then Lopez is 3-3, losing twice to Orlando Salido, who is the rival who destroyed his rising star, and he is coming of a loss to Mikey Garcia in his last outing. What is more, Lopez has looked punch drunk and lethargic as matches wear on, which is a bad sign and one that he should probably be counseled on or his safety. Nevertheless, his best bet is to play defense and win rounds, and hope the home cooking o the judges comes up in his favor.
That March 15th card also features rising superstar Danny Garcia who is favored (-1200) big time over his rival Mauricio Herrera. Keep an eye on Garcia, as he is undefeated and has shown lashes of superstar potential.
The card also has undefeated Heavyweight Deontay Wilder favored (-465) over his 36-1 opponent Malik Scott who returns (+365). Both men would like to impact a post-Klitschko world in the heavyweight division or years to come, and Wilder in particular is starting to really come together.
