Cincinnati Bengals vs Pittsburgh Steelers Will Have Major Playoff Implications
This Sundays match-up between the traveling Cincinnati Bengals vs the Pittsburgh Steelers will have major playoff implications in the AFC. While the Cincinnati Bengals are doing all they can to get in the playoffs having won four of their last five. The Pittsburgh Steelers are doing everything they can to fall short of making the cut winning just one of their last five. Playing at home in this match-up has BetDSI Sportsbook showing the Steelers as small favorites against the visiting Bengals.
Against the Eagles last week the Cincinnati Bengals earned an ugly 34-13 victory on the road over Philadelphia in a game their defense created five turnovers. Cincinnati QB Andy Dalton didn’t exactly play great completing just 13 of 27 passes for a measly 127 yards, a touchdown, and lost two fumbles. Running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis (The Law Firm) was a work horse running 25 times for 106 yards and a score. The receiving attack was a two man team with Jermaine Gresham having six catches for 63 yards, and A.J. Green having six receptions for 57. Only other person to make a catch for the Bengals was Brian Leonard who had one reception for 6 yards.
The Bengals defense was on point against the Eagles allowing just 219 total yards and only letting Philadelphia complete 3 out of 12 third down conversions. Creating four fumbles all of which they recovered and returning one for a touchdown the Eagles just did not stand a chance against the tough Cincinnati defense.
Huge loss last week by the Pittsburgh Steelers, 27 to 24 in overtime at the hands of the Cowboys made it so they will need some help to have a chance at the playoffs. Pittsburgh’s offense was certainly moving, racking up 388 total yards of offense. The problem was that QB Ben Roethlisberger accounted for nearly all of it with 339 yards throwing 24 completions on 40 attempts.. The Steelers went to the well one too many times as Big Ben threw an interception intended for Mike Wallace which was picked off by Cowboys DB Brandon Carr. The overtime interception was returned to the one yard line and sealed the game with a Dallas winning field goal.
For the Cincinnati Bengals to have much success vs the Pittsburgh Steelers they will have to spread the ball around better than last weeks game, and keep the law firm Green-Ellis running hard. Pittsburgh will have to find some way to get the ground game moving to keep the Bengals defense who has played good in the home stretch guessing.
The Bengals have been road warriors this year sporting a 5-2 record , a better one than when playing at home. I look for the Cincinnati Bengals to win this game outright vs the Pittsburgh Steelers so at +3 they are looking like Mikey to Vince Vaughn in the movie Swingers “ Money Baby “.
