College Basketball Betting: Saturday Picks

College hoops fans will love all the tremendous sportsbook matchups that are on tap for Saturday, as teams fight for number one seeds and NCAA tournament bids and positioning in their respective conferences, just a few days before the conference tournaments begin. So many different kinds of battles will take shape, and some of them will find a definite conclusion. It’s an exciting time to be a college basketball fan, and also a college basketball bettor as well.

Indiana Hoosiers @ Michigan Wolverines

Saturday, 6:05 PM ET

College Basketball Betting Odds: Michigan -10.5

The Michigan Wolverines have won the Big Ten championship this season. They might think that their work is done, but now comes the chance to gain a number one seed, which is still available. The Wolverines would definitely need help from other places around the country, but they definitely got that help when Syracuse and Duke lost. Michigan just needs to keep winning games, and if it can win here, it will improve its situation even more. At the very least, Michigan could get a number two seed, which would be a very good prize for a team that did very little in the out-of-conference part of its schedule. Indiana is in deep trouble and is probably headed for the NIT, but a win here on the road just might give the Hoosiers one last chance of being able to make the NCAA tournament if they can do something in the Big Ten Tournament next week.

Pick: Indiana +10.5

Colorado Buffaloes @ California Golden Bears

Saturday, 6:35 PM ET

College Basketball Betting Odds: California -4

This is a college basketball betting game in which the Golden Bears really need to step up and get a win. California got swept by the Arizona schools in the Pac-12 Conference last week, and then it suffered a discouraging loss at home to Utah on Wednesday night. If California can’t stop its losing streak here, it’s going to be in very big trouble heading into the Pac-12 Tournament next week in Las Vegas. California is viewed as being one of the last four teams in or one of the first four teams out of the tournament according to the people who make a lot of bracket projections. Winning here would significantly remove some pressure from the Golden Bears’ backs. Since this game is a home game, take California here.

Pick: California -4

Arizona Wildcats @ Oregon Ducks

Saturday, 4:05 PM ET

College Basketball Betting Odds: Arizona -3

This is a game in which Arizona is looking to firm up a number one seed in the West Region, while Oregon is trying to win a game that would pretty solidly put coach Dana Altman’s team into the NCAA tournament. Arizona plays great defense and has proven itself to be a tough out on any night, but Oregon is flying right now. The Ducks are playing with great confidence, which really hadn’t been apparent for them since the end of December. Oregon is on the upswing, and Arizona did not look good this past Wednesday against Oregon State. Go with the Ducks in this situation.

Pick: Oregon +3
