College World Series Teams
Florida (47-18)

The Gators are the top ranked team in the country and they rolled in the Super Regionals. They are loaded with talent as they have the best overall pitching staff in the country and a star hitter in Mike Zunino.  Anything other than a title will be a disappointment for the Gators.

UCLA (47-14)

The Bruins have won 16 of their past 17 games and they have right fielder Jeff Gelalich but this just seems like a team that is going to choke.  UCLA can oftentimes struggle to score if Gelalich doesn’t hit.

Florida State (48-15)

The Seminoles will be making their 21st College World Series appearance. They have two big hitters in Jayce Boyd and James Ramsey and a young and talented pitching staff.  Coach Mike Martin has never won a national title.

South Carolina (45-17)

The Gamecocks are the two-time defending College World Series champs and they have won 21 straight games in the NCAA postseason.  They have the unenviable task of opening up against the top-ranked Gators who beat them in three of four meetings this season.

Arkansas (44-20)

The Razorbacks went just 16-14 in the SEC but they got great pitching to win in the Super Regionals to make it to the World Series.  The Razorbacks do have a very good hitter in Matt Reynolds but overall this team doesn’t look good enough to win it all.

Stony Brook (52-13)

The Cinderella team is Stony Brook who beat Miami and LSU to make the College World Series. This is a team that can hit as they are second in the country in batting average. They may not get much respect but they have a better chance to win than some of the other teams in this tournament.

Arizona (43-17)

The Wildcats are back in the College World Series for the first time since 2004.  They had the advantage of getting to play St. John’s in the Super Regionals but there will be no scheduling advantage now.

Kent State (46-18)

The Golden Flashes are in the College World Series for the first time. Kent has some talent with players like Jimmy Rider and David Starn but will they freeze on the big stage?
