The Mighty Mouse will be on display on Friday night at UFC on FX-3. Demetrious Johnson, also known as Mighty Mouse is favored in UFC odds against Ian McCall in the feature bout. Let’s take a closer look at the man they call Mighty Mouse.
Demetrious Johnson (Mighty Mouse)
He began his MMA career in the King of the Cage and won his first fight by TKO. He then won four straight fights by submission before fighting at the Alaska Fighting Championships where he won by knockout. The WEC took notice and signed him and he made his debut against Brad Pickett at WEC 48. He lost a unanimous decision to Pickett but Demetrious Johnson bounced back at WEC 51 to beat Nick Pace. Johnson also won at WEC 52 against Damacio Page. The WEC merged with the UFC so Johnson got his shot at the big time and he won his debut against Norifumi Yamamoto at UFC 126. He backed that win up by beating Miguel Torres at UFC 130. Johnson was beaten by Dominick Cruz at UFC on Versus 6. In his last fight, Johnson faced Ian McCall as part of the flyweight tournament. After originally being scored a majority decision for Johnson, the ruling was changed to a draw.
Friday night in Fort Lauderdale, Florida it will be Johnson going up against McCall in a rematch of their first fight that ended in a draw. Johnson has said that he is far better prepared mentally for this fight than he was the last time. He has gotten married since the first fight and he has been training in Hawaii. He said he is far happier and far more focused for this fight than he was the last time.
Flyweight Title in Sight
If the Mighty Mouse can win on Friday night against McCall, and he is favored in the UFC fight odds (-150 at BetDSI sportsbook), he would get a shot at Joseph Benavidez for the first UFC Flyweight title.
