Fantasy Football Impact Of The Baltimore Ravens In 2012

The Baltimore Ravens will have their fair share of Fantasy Football impact players in 2012 fielding a solid offense that runs through runningback Ray Rice. Rice will be the number one overall pick on many of draft boards, and for good reason coming off his best season putting up a career high in touchdowns.

Rice in 2011 carried the ball 291 times for 1,364 yards averaging almost 5 yards per carry and 12 rushing scores. He also racked up points in points per catch leagues with 76 receptions out of the backfield for 704 yards and 3 more TD’s.

Joe Flacco is a good QB and a solid option around the third to fourth rounds as he has tallyed 20+ touchdowns each season since his rookie year. Last season he threw for 3,610 yards with 20 touchdowns to 12 interceptions. Look for him to put up similar numbers this season spreading the ball around to the offense.

Wide receiver Anquan Boldin made 57 grabs for 887 and three touchdowns in 2011 taking a back seat to rookie wideout Torrey Smith. Smith really played well as a rookie with 50 receptions for 841 yards and seven scores at a position that usually needs time for development. He has deep play ability that can really put up points for your fantasy football team.

Tight-end Ed Dickson is going to be available in the later rounds and will provide a tight end that could have a breakout year. In his second season he had 54 receptions for 528 yards and 5 touchdowns, and I look for him to improve this year and become a really good target in the endzone for Joe Flacco.

So While Ray Rice will be the only Baltimore Raven off the board early in most fantasy football leagues there is a lot of talent to be had for your team coming out of Baltimore. Torrey Smith and Joe Flacco will come off the board around round three and later Anquan Boldin giving you great value.
