Fantasy Football Impact Of The Cincinnati Bengals In 2012

Welcome to BetDSI Sportsbook Fantasy Football Impact where we are going down the list of NFL teams in alphabetical order to check out the Fantasy Football impact each team will have in the upcoming season. Now we will have a look at the 2012 Cincinnati Bengals.

The Cincinnati Bengals found instant success last year with a very young offense led by rookie QB Andy Dalton. In his first year Dalton showed great poise in throwing for 3,398 yards and 20 touchdowns leading his team to the playoffs.

Another Bengals rookie to find instant success was Wide Receiver A.J. Green who had 1,057 yards and a 7 scores. Green paired nicely with second year tight end Jermaine Gresham who improved upon his rookie numbers with 596 receiving yards and 6 touchdowns. WR Jerome Simpson had his best season in 2011 with 50 catches for 725 yards and 4 touchdown catches.

The Bengals are still without an elite running back but they do have a work horse in Cedric Benson who last year rushed 273 times for 1,067 yards and 6 TD’s. Benson however lost five fumbles and that gave veteran back Bernard Scott a look who finished the season with three rushing touchdowns of his own.

Breakdown: Andy Dalton is a fine young QB and a great option in round three and maybe even off the board sooner in a lot of Fantasy Football drafts. Receiver A.J. Green could have a huge year with a season under his belt and even better timing with his young QB Dalton. Green could be gone early leaving Jermaine Gresham a great option at the TE spot in the later rounds of your Fantasy Football draft board. Cedric Benson is a big question mark as we do not know if he will cough up the ball as many times as he hits the endzone, possibly giving up playing time to Scott again in 2012.
