Matt Ryan Will Have To Outperform Colin Kaepernick To Get To His First Super Bowl
What a great day of football we have lined up! This game between the San Francisco 49ers taking to the road to take on the Atlanta Falcons looks to be a truly exciting match-up and I for one cannot wait. Hard one to predict but the one thing seems for certain is that Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan will have to outperform the young San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kapernick to get to his first super bowl.
Last week Matt Ryan led the Atlanta Falcons to an absolute thriller of a playoff victory 30-28 over the Seattle Seahawks in what will go down as one of the best playoff games of all-time. Up 20 to nothing going into the second half, the Seahawks put up a touchdown in the 3rd quarter and 21 more in the fourth quarter to get them right back in it. Matt Ryan threw a crucial interception in the fourth and the Falcons has dug a hole with the Seattle scoring a touchdown that put them up by a point.
Then the heroics, with less than a minute to go Matt Ryan drove his team down the field for a game winning field goal to seal their trip to the championship round of the playoffs. Ryan finished the day going 24 of 35 for 250 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions. He got help with his running game being effect most of the contest with Michael Turner running 14 times for 98 yards, and Jacquizz Rogers carrying the rock 10 times for 64 yards.
The San Francisco 49ers played a great game last week beating the packers 45-31 with young Niners QB Collin Kaepernick stealing the show. After throwing a pick six early, Kaepernick would come back to set a playoff record with 181 rushing yards and two touchdowns to go with his 263 yards in the air and two touchdowns passing.
San Fran ran the ball all day over the Packers with Frank Gore contributing with 23 carries for 181 yards. Wide Receiver Michael Crabtree also had a huge performance with 9 catches for 119 yards and two touchdowns.
San Francisco 49ers vs Atlanta Falcons betting prediction:
The value most certainly lies with the Atlanta Falcons being the home team with +4 points. Collin Kaepernick is essentially a rookie and may not be able to come close to repeating his performance last week. The tape is building up on the young QB and teams will certainly find a way to slow him down.
I got the Falcons possibly winning this game outright, and for them to get more than a field goal in points spotted to them at home where they are so tough to beat is just too good to pass up.
