MLB Betting Prediction: Ricky Nolasco Will Face Strasburg and Capitals In Third Start For Dodgers
All-Star break is officially over Friday and a fun match-up will be Los Angeles Dodgers new pitcher Ricky Nolasco will get his third start for LA against Steven Strasburg and the Capitals. With a 27-18 record at home the Capitals are considerable favorites against the Dodgers who are 20-24 on the road this year.
The LA Dodgers are 47-47 on the year and just two and a half games behind NL West leading Arizona. Ricky Nolasco gives the Dodgers another solid arm in the rotation as he makes his third start for LA against the Capitals. Nolasco is currently 6-9 this year with a 3.76 ERA and currently 1-1 in his two starts for LA with a 3.00 ERA in those two.
Right fielder Yasiel Puig has been tearing the cover off the ball this year hitting .391 to date with 8 homers and 25 RBI’s. Hanley Ramirez is moving the stick well too with a 3.86 average and 25 RBI’s. Hitting for power on the team is Adrian Gonzalez who was acquired from the Red Sox last season with 14 home runs this year for 59 RBI’s.
The Washington Capitals are 48-47 on the year and is currently trailing the leading Atlanta Braves in the NL East by five games. Taking the mound for Washington is Stephen Strasburg who is currently 5-7 on the year with a 2.99 ERA.
Outfielder Jason Werth is leading the Capitals in batting average out of anyone who has 200 at bats or more with a .297 average this season. Ian Desmond has tore the cover off the ball many of games this year with 15 home runs, 49 RBI’s, and a .281 average. Ryan Zimmerman is of course holding his own as well hitting .270, with 11 homeruns, and 51 RBI’s.
Ricky Nolasco is a very capable pitcher and at +150 there is too much value to be had in taking him and the Dodgers against Strasburg and the Capitals. Obviously Washington is very tough at home but Strasburg has been lacking in run support all season as his 5-7 record but just 2.99 ERA displays.
