Friday the Atlanta Hawks dominated the traveling Washington Wizards 102-88 in a thorough beat down. Atlanta shot the ball very well hitting 48.2% of their attempts from the field, 12-27 of their three point attempts, and spread the ball around nicely with team total of 30 assists. The Hawks also played well defensively forcing 22 turnovers while only committing 10 themselves.
Atlanta’s Joe Johnson has been shredding teams for an average of 25.2 points in his five games since his return from a long absence due to tendinitis in his left knee. Against the Wizards Johnson tied his season best scoring 34 points and made 5 assists. Josh Smith put up 23 points and 8 assists, and Jeff Teague put up 14.
Wednesday the Cleveland Cavaliers took to the road and were soundly beaten by the hot Milwaukee Bucks 115-105. Cleveland shot well hitting 44.7% of their shots from the filed and 11-24 of their three-point attempts. However the Cavaliers just could not contain the Bucks scorers as they had six players in the double digit points with two players at 20+, and included a triple double from Drew Gooden.
Leading Cleveland in scoring was Kyrie Irving with 28 points shooting very good hitting 11-16 shots from the field, and hitting two out of his four three-point shots. Irving did have 5 dimes however made a crucial game high 8 turnovers. Alonzo Gee made 19 points and Atawn Jamison 13 but both also made five turnovers a piece. Daniel Gibson led the Cavaliers bench in scoring with 18 points and did not make many mistakes with only one TO.
NBA Betting Prediction: The Atlanta Hawks have won the past five meetings against the Cleveland Cavaliers and have been playing great basketball as of late. Atlanta seems determined to make the playoffs and I would not bet against them to win their sixth straight against the Cleveland.
