The Orlando Magic were soundly beaten 97-83 the other day by the Chicago Bulls where they were outscored in all 3 quarters after the first where they outscored Chicago by a point. Orlando shot 30-75 from the line and hit 7/20 from three point range. The Magic was out rebounded 46 to 37 while turning over the ball 17 times to the Bulls 12.
Dwight Howard had a huge game against Chicago leading the game in scoring 28 points, rebounding 15, and also tallying 2 steals, 2 assists, and 2 blocked shots. However he did not get much support from his surrounding cast, which has been the problem in recent years in Orlando. Guard Jason Richardson had 17 points, and Forward Hedo Turkoglu came in 3rd in scoring on the team with 12. The bench could not hit their shots either as J.J. Redick whiffed on 4 attempts and a single shot from three range, his lone point came via throw attempt.
The Sacramento Kings won a tough fought 103-100 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks on the 5th of the month. They were outscored heavily in the first half to come back and drill the Bucks for 66 second half points to Milwaukee’s 42. Sacramento shot 37-91 from the floor but only hit 4 of 21 three point attempts. The turnovers were about locked at 20-19 however the Kings out rebounded the the Bucks 55-31.
There were some big scorers that came out to play for the Kings against the Bucks, Guard Marcus Thorton led Sacramento with 27 points, 3 assists, and 2 steals. Tyreke Evans came in a close team 2nd in scoring with 26 points, and also led the team in assists with 5. DeMarcus Cousins had 19 points and led the game with 15 rebounds.
My Prediction: Look for the Orlando Magic to get back into winning form here against the Sacramento Kings who will be outgunned. The bench that was scoring points in earlier games this season will spring back to life in this game helping out Dwight Howard.
