NBA Playoffs Betting Predictions: Boston Celtics vs Atlanta Hawks
Tonight the Boston Celtics try to knot the series at one a piece without Rajon Rondo due to a game suspension and Ray Allen due to injury, in game two against the Atlanta Hawks. BetDSI Sportsbook current live lines display the Hawks as -210 home favorites giving up -4 ½ points to the Celtics.
The Boston Celtics will have difficulty winning game two without their biggest weapon Rondo who was on fire in the first game shooting 10 for 18 with 11 dishes, and 4 steals before being ejected for a spat with a referee. Besides Kevin Garnett who shot 8 for 19 with 12 rebounds, and 2 steals. Boston created far more turnovers 13 to their 6 but just couldn’t shoot consistently with Paul Pierce having troubles going 5 – 10 and missing all 6 of his three-point attempts.
It is certainly hard to win games never mind in the playoffs shooting 39% like the Celtics did in the first matchup, with Rondo and Allen gone they will need Pierce to up his game like he did so many times in the regular season in their absence. Also Brandon Bass has been known to come in and play great as a role player for Boston.
The Atlanta Hawks over came 13 turnovers and 40% shooting to win behind Joe Smith’s game high 22 points and 18 rebounds. Shooting 40 percent from the floor and only 66.7% from the free-throw line without Smith putting in such a great effort they would not have gotten the win regardless of key contributors. Not much effort came from the bench with Jannero Pargo leading the pine with only five points.
Behind Smith was point guard Jeff Teague who put in the second best effort for the Atlanta Hawks with 15 points on .500 shooting, hitting two for two on his attempts behind the arc, six rebounds, three assists, and a steal. Kirk Hinrich put up 12 on 50% shooting and hit four of six shots from downtown.
NBA Playoffs Betting Prediction: The Boston Celtics have won games under worse conditions with the slack getting picked up from either Pierce or other contributors and I feel it will happen again tonight against the Atlanta Hawks. Boston at +180 sounds so right to me tonight against Atlanta.
