NCAA Sweet 16 Tournament Match-up Marquette vs Miami
Tonight the NCAA tournament resumes as we enter the sweet 16 when Marquette takes on Miami. The second seed Miami Hurricanes have won their last six straight games and are going to be the definitive favorite at BetDSI Sportsbook over third seed Marquette who has won six of seven.
In their previous NCAA tournament match-up the Miami Hurricanes knocked off seventh seed Illinois 63-59 in a close one. It was a defensive match-up as both teams struggled to score with Miami shooting 40% from the floor and Illinois hitting just 37.7% of their field goals.
Leading the Hurricanes in scoring was Junior Guard Rion Brown having a great day with 21 points on 7-14 shooting from the floor and 5 for 10 from downtown.Sophomore Guard Shane Larkin had 17 points, shooting 5-12 from the floor, 3 for 7 from behind the arc, and 4 for 5 from the foul. Senior Forward Kenny Kadj also had double digit points scoring 10 on 4 for 11 shooting to go with 8 rebounds.
The Marquette Golden Eagles knocked off sixth seed Butler 74-72 in their last tournament match-up. It was arguably the best game of the NCAA tournament thus far with both teams exchanging leads throughout the match-up. Marquette finished the game shooting 42.6% from the floor, going 5-12 from behind the arc, and going 85.2% from the foul line.
Marquette’s leading scorer against Butler was Junior Guard Vander Blue who had an incredible game with 29 points on 9-15 shooting and going 3 for 4 from three point range. Blue also put on a defensive performance with 4 total steals for the contest. The Golden Eagles also had two other double digit scorers in Forward Jamil Wilson (13) and Guard Trent Lockett (13).
This has all the makings of a great match-up and with the teams being very close in skill I couldn’t think of laying such a high price on Miami with this match-up being so even. Marquette and the points or the large moneyline is where the value is at in this contest.
