New York Knicks Face Playoff Elimination On The Road Against Pacers In Game Six

The New York Knicks face elimination tonight on the road against the Indiana Pacers and will need to win game six to to tie the series. It will not be an easy task for NY as the Pacers are unbeaten in Indiana thus far in the playoffs winning all five contests at home.

Facing elimination in game five on their home court the New York Knicks pulled off an 85-75 victory against Indiana. NY made up for the 41% shooting on the floor by going 7 of 17 from downtown, but it was more the defensive performance that got them the win. The Knicks blocked five total shots, and made 12 steals, their tough defense held the Pacers to just 36% shooting on the night.

Carmelo Anthony as usual led the Knicks in scoring with 28 total points on 12 for 28 shooting. J.R. Smith didn’t have a huge day going 4 -11 but the 12 points he did get were mostly during clutch situations. They got a big 13 points from Chris Copeland coming off the bench but NY will need more from Iman Shumpert who only had 5 points on 2 for 10 shooting.

It was a different story for the Indiana Pacers on the road in game five as they just could not get their shots to fall. Even at the foul line they were just a miserable 19-33 for just 57%, they could have greatly influenced the outcome of the game had they of at least performed at the line.

Paul George certainly wasn’t the reason for the Pacers losing as the Forward notched 23 points on 7 for 18 shooting and hit 2 of 6 from downtown. David West had a respectable performance going 7 for 17 from the paint finishing the night with 17 points and 10 rebounds. D.J. Augustin could of done more to help the Pacers as he shot 3 of 9 and hit 3 of 7 three point shots for just 12 points in 38 minutes on the floor.

I like the price on the Knicks despite the Pacers not losing a playoff game at home thus far. At plus five points I believe that to be a good enough cushion for a play on NY in tonight’s game five playoff match-up.
