Wagering on the Tennessee Titans UNDER 6.5 Wins -105 at BetDSI Sportsbook.
Star running back Chris Johnson wants to be shown the money in Tennessee, and so far he hasn’t, or at least not to his satisfaction. With RB Johnson in the huddle a year ago, the Titans managed to win 6 games. Now, with him still not in training camp, their Season Win Total is 6.5 Over -125 / Under -105. Tennessee has added some stability at QB with Matt Hasselbeck coming over from Seattle, but even he is only there to occupy the position ordained to top draft pick Jake Locker. While WR Kenny Britt has stud potential he has failed when it comes to exercising restraint and using judgment.
So how do the Tennessee Titans show improvement coming off a 6-win season and their undisputed star running back yet to report to camp?
I am betting they don’t.
New Head Coach Mike Munchak might be in for a long season as he has a team that finished near the bottom of the league in Yards For and were equally inept in Yards Against. The bigger problem, regardless of what actually happens in Nashville, could be how the rest of the division has improved in the offseason. Division leaders Indianapolisare clearly the best of the bunch as the start of the season grows near, and we are expecting QB Peyton Manning to be in form by Week One. The Jacksonville Jaguars finished second in the AFC South last year and are a solid team with a good running game and tough defense that looks to be even better this season led by an improved line-backing corps. For all their talent with the ball, Houston managed only 6 wins last season but they too seem to be a much better team, at least on paper. RB Arian Foster is arguably the best all-round back in the league as he finds the goal-line and catches the ball so well out of the backfield. They have a stud QB throwing to an All-Pro wide receiver, so their offense is all good. Defensively the Texans are deeply talented at linebacker and new Defensive Coordinator Wade Phillips has a history of turning defenses around in his first season.
Let’s break it down: Tennessee starts at Jacksonville where they are currently a 3-point dog, then host one of the top teams, the Baltimore Ravens before getting a Denver team that can put up points. Best case scenario with Chris Johnson would be 1-2 in my opinion. Week Three they hit the road where Cleveland has improved and then go to Pittsburgh after that. Their Bye Week is followed with Houston and Indianapolis likely to hand the Titans more losses. Tennessee hits the halfway mark against a bad Cincinnati side which probably gets them to 2-6.
A win at Carolina will be followed with a loss at Atlanta and likely another defeat at home to Tampa Bay. Week 12 they head to Buffalo which is no easy place to play. I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt that they get a win either at home to Tampa in Week 11 or the following week at the Bills. With four games remaining I see Tennessee sitting at 4-8 at best. The remaining four games? Glad you asked. New Orleans, at Indianapolis, Jacksonville, and then finishing the season at Houston before packing their bags. It takes 7 wins to beat us and they are not getting 3 wins in these games.
I am wagering on the Tennessee Titans UNDER 6.5 -105 Wins this regular season at BetDSI Sportsbook.
