NFL Betting Prediction: Houston Texans vs Jacksonville Jaguars
The Houston Texans will be starting QB Matt Leinart after Matt Schaub has his foot injured last week. Leinart will have his work cut out for him as Schaub has been great this season, last week he went 11/15 for 242 yards and 2 TD’s. The combination of RB’s Arian Foster and Ben Tate has been explosive, Foster rushed 17 times for 84 yards and a TD, while Tate had 13 carries for 63 yards and a TD. Foster alos had an electric 4 catches for 102 yards and a TD that went 78 yards.
The Houston defense has been as solid as they come in the NFL as of late. Last week allowing only 9 points on 231 total yards, 90 rushing, and 141 passing. They were disruptive last week making 4 sacks, and grabbing 3 interceptions. Linebacker Brian Cushing had a heck of a day making 8 tackles, a sack, and an interception.
The Jacksonville Jaguars offense has had difficulty scoring all season, and last week against the Browns was no different. They managed only ten points in a 14-10 loss. On a positive note rookie QB Blaine Gabbert played mistake free football going 22/41 for 210 yards. RB Maurice Jones-Drew still playing hard had 21 carrys for 87 yards and a TD.
Jacksonville’s defense has been playing pretty good this year, last week they gave up only 334 total yards, 186 passing, and 148 rushing. If they can clamp down on the run against the Texans and make Leinart it would go a long way to a Jaguars victory.
Betting Prediction: The Houston Texans defense has played stellar as of late, and with two runningbacks now that can run the ball very effectively Matt Leinart will have alot of help. The Jacksonville Jaguars offense simply cannot put up enough points to compete with the Texans in this game. Take the Houston Texans at -6 1/2 over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
