NFL Betting Prediction: New York Giants vs New Orleans Saints
This week on Monday Night Football the New York Giants (6-4) travel to the Mercedes-Benz Superdome to take on the New Orleans Saints (7-3). BetDSI Sportsbook current Live Lines display the Saints as huge -365 favorites giving up -7 1/2 points to the Giants.
The New Orleans Saints offense has been as potent as usual this season averaging just over 31 points per a game, good for 2nd in the league. Last week in a 26-23 overtime victory over the Falcons, QB Drew Bree’s threw 30 completions on 43 attempts for 322 yards and 2 TD’s. They had absolutely no rushing attack and luckily for them it was not needed. TE Jimmy Graham had a big day with 7 catches for 82 yards and a TD, while Marquez Colston had 8 catches for 113 yards.
The defense for the Saints was less than stellar last week giving up 481 yards, 138 rushing, and 343 yards passing. However they stuffed Atlanta when it mattered most, on fourth down in overtime on a 4rth and less than a yard stopping a Michael Turner rush for a no gain. Strong Safety Roman Harper had a huge game with 13 tackles and a sack, with the defense also making an interception and two forced fumbles.
The New York Giants lost a tough game last week 17-10 against the Eagles dropping their second game in a row since their upset over the Patriots while on the road. Eli Manning had a rough day completing only 18 of his 35 passes for 264 yards a TD and an interception. The Giants would have been benefit from not running the ball a single time last week as Brandon Jacobs’ 12 carries only amounted to 21 total yards. WR Victor Cruz is going to make a name for himself in a very short time, against Philadelphia he had 6 receptions for 128 yards and a touchdown.
The Giants defense didn’t play terrible giving up only 17 points on 391 yards, 255 passing yards, and 136 yards rushing. Rookie CB Prince Amukamara made his first start of his career coming back from injury suffered before the season started, he looked great with 5 tackles and an interception. Jason Pierre-Paul is having a hell of a second year, last week he recorded his 10.5th sack of the season.
Betting Prediction: The New York Giants struggled against a Eagles team that has been underachieving all year, while the New Orleans Saints have back to back wins. Still with all that being said the Saints also dropped some games to far more questionable teams than the Giants. I believe New York at +305 or +7 1/2 points is a great value.
