NFL Betting Predictions: Arizona Cardinals vs Minnesota Vikings
Two 4-2 teams square off this weekend when the Arizona Cardinals travel to take on the Minnesota Vikings. BetDSI Sportsbook current live lines display the Vikings as large -300 favorites giving up -6 ½ points to the struggling Cardinals.
The Cardinals who started the season off 4-0 have dropped their last two games, their latest a 19-16 loss to the Buffalo Bills in overtime after a John Skelton interception. Skelton entered the game after QB Kevin Kolb was injured scrambling late in the fourth quarter and after five sacks on the day.
Skelton looked awful going 2 for 10 for 45 yards and an interception in overtime that cost the Cardinals the game. Rookie RB William Powell who is filling in for a hurt Ryan Williams who was filling in for a hurt Beanie Wells played pretty well with 13 carries for 70 yards. Besides Powell Larry Fitzgerald was the only person to show signs of life for the Arizona offense with 6 catches for 93 yards and a touchdown.
The Minnesota Vikings at 4-2 is one of the more improved teams in the league with a most improved second year QB Christian Ponder. Minnesota lost 38-26 to the Vikings last week on the road but still played tough and while they may not be playoff ready this season keep your eye on the Vikings because they will be good for years to come if Ponder continues his rapid growth.
Against Washington Ponder threw a whopping 52 times completing 35 passes for 352 yards and two touchdowns, he did throw two uncharacteristic interceptions as he has been mostly mistake free this year. RB Adrian Peterson who was a surprise to even be starting at the beginning of this season coming back from a nasty leg injury rushed 17 times for 79 yards, but it was Percy Harvin who had the best day on the Vikings team with 11 catches for 133 yards.
The Arizona Cardinals are starting to get exposed for what they are, a sub-par team who’s defense allowed them to accumulate an unlikely 4-0 record to start the season.
The Minnesota vikings have a second year quarterback that has improved by leaps and bounds since last season, and one of the best running backs in the game. Look for the Vikings to win this Sunday against an outclassed Arizona team being QB’ed by John Skelton.
