NFL Betting Predictions: Arizona Cardinals vs San Francisco 49ers
This Sunday the Arizona Cardinals will travel to Candlestick Park to take on the San Francisco 49ers. BetDSI Sportsbook current Live Lines display the 49ers as huge -550 favorites giving up -10 points to the Cardinals.
The Arizona Cardinals are coming into this matchup having won their last two with backup QB John Skelton at the helm. Last week they upset the Eagles 21-17 while playing on the road, coming back in the fourth quarter. John Skelton threw 21 completions on 40 attempts for 315 yards, 3 TD’s and 3 INT’s. WR Larry Fitzgerald was no surprisingly Skelton’s biggest target, hauling in 7 receptions for 146 yards and 2 TD’s. RB Beanie Wells did not run the ball very well gathering only 62 yards on his 23 attempts for a 2.3 yards per a carry.
Arizona’s defense gave the Eagles all sorts of trouble, giving up only 289 total yards, 123 passing, and 166 rushing. They had 2 sacks giving Michael Vick issues intercepting him twice, and only allowing one touchdown via the rushing game. The other touchdown scored by the opposition was a John Skelton interception returned for a TD.
The San Francisco 49ers are having an amazing turn-around this season and are riding a 7 game winning streak. Last Sunday was a hard fought 27-20 victory overy the New York Giants. QB Alex Smith who has been a totally different QB than years past under coach Jim Harbaugh, went 19/30 for 242 yards a TD and INT. Coach Harbaugh last week for whatever reason abandoned the run with RB Kendall Hunter getting only 6 carries but getting 40 yards and a TD with the small workload.
The 49ers defense allowed 395 total yards, 302 passing, and 93 rushing. Linebacker Patrick Willis was a monster as usual making 11 total tackles and a sack. While LB NaVorro Bowman had 14 total tackles, and CB Carlos Rogers had 2 very crucial interceptions which helped his team seal the win.
Betting Prediction: I think the buck stops here for the Arizona Cardinals when facing the on fire San Francisco 49ers. I believe the niners defense is too good for the Cardinals who maybe playing a cold Kevin Kolb who may not be a 100% at QB. If Skelton plays then you still have a unproven young QB known to make mistakes against the red hot 49ers.
