NFL Betting Predictions: Baltimore Ravens at Jacksonville Jaguars
This weeks Monday Night Football game pits the Baltimore Ravens (5-1) against the Jacksonville Jaguars (1-5). BetDSI Sportsbook currently Live Lines have the Ravens as a huge -525 favorite against the Jaguars, giving up -10 points in the spread.
Last week the Baltimore Ravens dominated against a really good Houston Texans team. QB Joe Flacco didnt have his greatest game throwing no TD’s and an INT, but he did throw 305 yards on his 20 completions in 33 attempts. RB Ray Rice was a work horse running the ball 23 times for 101 yards, and also had 5 catches for 60 yards for 161 total all purpose yards on the day. WR Anquan Boldin found his groove in this game after being shut down in week 4 against the Jets. Boldin had 8 catches for 132 yards, raking up 16.5 yards per a reception.
The Ravens defense have been shutting people down all season long. The most points they have allowed in a game this year is 17 against the Jets. They have a total of 15 sacks on the year, 6 interceptions, and an insane 10 forced fumbles. They currently rank (1st) in the NFL in points allowed (14.2) and their highest defensive ranking is the very low 209 passing yards they allow on average a game ranking them (8th) in the league.
The Jaguars have hands down the worst ranked offense in the league, tallying pathetic per season averages of: 12 points per a game (31st) in the league, 260 total yards (32nd), 137 passing yards (32nd), and 122 yards rushing (11th). Rookie QB Blaine Gabbert has thrown a TD in four straight games as a starter, but as you can tell by their league rankings, fails to get this offense truely moving. RB Maurice Jones-Drew is still a heck of a runningback, running the rock 118 times this year for 572 yards, a 4.8 yards per carry, and 2 TD’s.
The Jags defense have played better than their counterpart, giving up ( on average per week ) : 22 points, 325 total yards, 210 passing yards, and 115 rushing yards. They have 11 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, and 6 interceptions. However it does not matter how good your defense is, if your offense does not score points you will not win ( unless you have the greatest defense ever and Trent Dilfer as your QB ).
My Prediction: What another horrible Monday Night Football matchup, I don’t know who made this MNF schedule this year but they need a good firing. This one will be a blowout of epic proportions. Take the Ravens to win by a heavy margin, with this Ravens defense the Jaguars rookie QB Gabbert is in for a hell of a bad day.
