NFL Betting Predictions: Carolina Panthers vs Atlanta Falcons
Sunday evening the Carolina Panthers (1-2) take to the road looking to get back in the win column against the undefeated Atlanta Falcons (3-0). BetDSI Sportsbook current live lines display the Falcons as -330 favorites giving up -7 to the struggling Panthers.
Last week against the Giants the Carolina Panthers were manhandled 36-7 at home. Sophomore QB Cam Newton had one of his worst games in his short career throwing just 16 completions on 30 attempts and throwing 3 interceptions to no touchdowns. Making his performance even worse was a touchdown celebration on one of his runs when his team was down by multiple scores.
Wide Receiver Steve Smith was disgruntled with his second year QB who acted childishly on the bench, then first year coach Ron Rivera got disgruntled with Smith for not keeping it in house. Between their performance last week and the in house issues between teammates and coach, this certainly doesn’t look like the same team a year ago with such a promising 2012 season.
The Atlanta Falcons sitting at 3-0 for the first time since 2004 have been disposing of teams left and right. Their latest victory was a 27-3 romping on the road against the San Diego Chargers. Matt Ryan played great throwing 30 completions on 40 attempts for 3 touchdowns and a lone interception. Michael Turner had a good day running 14 times for 80 yards and a touchdown.
Atlanta’s defense has been much improved since last season with their cornerbacks constantly making plays on the ball. Last week it was Thomas DeCoud who picked off Chargers QB Phillip Rivers for two interceptions. DE Jonathan Abraham had the teams lone sack of the game.
NFL Betting Prediction:
The Carolina Panthers have not looked great so far this season while the Atlanta Falcons have looked like the team to beat in the NFC. I don’t see this trend ending come Sunday when the Panthers have to travel to Atlanta where it is incredibly hard to win against the Falcons.
Look for the Falcons to remain unbeaten and cover the -7 point spread easily in this game at home against the Panthers.
