NFL Betting Predictions: Carolina Panthers vs New Orleans Saints
In this final game of the season for each team the Carolina Panthers maybe fielding their whole team whil the New Orleans Saints sit some out for the playoffs. BetDSI Sportsbook current Live Lines display the New Orleans Saints as heavy -7 1/2 favorites over the Carolina Panthers.
Last Monday night the New Orleans Saints smashed on the Falcons 45-16 in a game where QB Drew Brees broke Dan Marino’s single season passing yardage record. What a stellar day to break a record on as Brees went 23/39 for 307 yards and 4 touchdowns. Darren Sproles ran the ball 5 times for 67 yards averaging well over a ridiculous 10 yards per carry, and also had 2 catches 22 yards and a score. New Orleans didn’t stop running there as Pierre Thomas got in for 9 carries 53 yards a touchdown, and Chris Ivory ran 8 times for 35 yards. Marquez Colston led the team with 7 receptions 81 yards and a tochdown, while Meachem had 3 catches 75 yards and a score.
The Saints defense gave up a bunch of yards but only 17 points on 469 total yards, 434 passing , and really tightening up on the run giving up only 35 rushing. No big plays were made on the New Orleans part, only linebacker Scott Shanle who had a forced fumble. Cornerback Jabari Greer led the team in tackles with 10 on the game.
The Carolina Panthers look to close out the last couple games of the season on a winning note as they have put together back to back wins in dominant fashion. Last week it was a destructive 48-16 victory over the Buccaneers which very well may cost some coaches in Tampa their jobs. What a year Rookie QB Cam Newton has had and last week highlighting the progression he has made all year. He went 12/17 for 171 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 6 carries for 65 yards and another score. The Panthers ran wild as RB Deangelo Williams had 7 carries for 66 yards and two scores, and Johnathan Stewart had 7 rushes for 88 yards. Only thing this offense did not do was convert on 3rd down as they went 0/6.
The Panthers defense was stout last week agaist the Bucs giving up 16 points on 317 total yards, only 59 rushing , and 258 passing. Strong Safety Johnathan Nelson played a great game accumulating 7 tackles and an interception. Linebacker Jordan Senn led Carolina’s defense with 10 total tackles., and LB James Anderson not far behind with 7.
My Prediction: While the Carolina Panthers have played competitively all year, I dont see them scratiching a W out against possessed Drew Brees and New Orleans saints team that looks every bit superbowl bound. Look for the Saints to win big here and go into the playoffs with huge amounts of motivation.
