NFL Betting Predictions: Chicago Bears at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are coming off the most impressive win of the season last week against the New Orleans Saints. QB Josh Freeman played great throwing 23 completions on 41 attempts ( completion rate could of been higher ) for 303 yards, 2 TD’s and no interceptions. RB Earnest Graham rushed 17 times for 109 yards breaking one for 34 yards. I usually do not give shout-outs to kickers but hats off to K Connor Barth hitting 4 of his 5 field goal attempts, one of which was at 48 yards. Barth scored 14 of hte 26 total points for the Bucs last Sunday.
The Bucs defense was solid as can be against a potent Saints offense. Tampa Bay forced elite QB Drew Bree’s into throwing 3 INT’s, one of which was in the endzone on 4th down. The Saints also could not run the ball at all against the Bucs, combining for only 70 yards rushing between all their runningbacks.
The Chicago Bears had another solid performance last week against the Vikings, but this time have a win to show for it. QB Jay Cutler played exceptionally well throwing 21 completions on 31 attempts for 267 yards and 2 TD’s no INT’s. RB’s Matt Forte and Marion ” The Barbarian ” Barber combined for over 100 yards rushing and a TD by Barber. Devin Hester ran one back and had a long TD reception of 48 yards, he was injured later in the game with a chest injury. The Bears expect Hester will be ready for this upcoming game against the Bucs.
The Bears defense created all sorts of problems for the Vikings offense as they combined for 5 sacks, two of which were from DE Julius Peppers which I’m sure Bears fans are happy to see getting to the QB after the investment made for him. The most impressive feat the Bears defense made last week was holding Vikings star RB Adrian Peterson to only 39 yards on 12 carries, his longest was for 8 yards on the day.
My Prediction: The Bucs are coming off a huge victory and looked very good getting it, however I do not think they will have the firepower to put up more and keep more points off the board than the Bears. The fact the Bucs did give up over 300+ yards passing last week does not fair well for them as if they did not get all those interceptions that game would of had a much different outcome. If Bears QB Jay Cutler can keep from making mistakes they should have a decisive victory.
