NFL Betting Predictions: Chicago Bears vs Cleveland Browns

Thursday at 8pm Eastern, the Chicago Bears (1-2) travel to take on the Cleveland Browns (1-2) at Cleveland Browns Stadium. BetDSI.eu sportsbook currently have the Browns as a -1 point favorite over the Bears.

The Chicago Bears offense this preseason has not been good at putting up points averaging only 12 a game, however they have been excellent at piling up yardage with per game averages of 362 total yards, 231 passing, and 131 rushing. Last week against the Titans the Bears QB’s were awful. starting QB Jay Cutler threw 13 completions on 21 attempts for 170 yards and an interception. Backup QB Caleb Hanie did not fair any better throwing 9 completions on 18 attempts for 107 yards and an interception. Bears runningback Matt Forte got into a little rhythm rushing 17 times for 74 yards and a TD. Marion Barber had a reception and one carry before hurting his thigh and leaving the game.

The Bears defense was solid against the Titans only allowing 7 points and the other 7 coming via a Hanie Int returned 90 yards for a touchdown. Amobi Okoye is continuing his preseason sack total as he now has 3 on the preseason after getting one last week against the Titans.

The Cleveland Browns offense has not been good but still manages to put up points as they have per game averages of 23 points, 292 total yards, 171 passing yards, and 120 rushing yards. Last week the Browns offense did not look good at all against the Philadelphia Eagles. QB Colt Mccoy completed only 9 passes out of 18 for 89 yards and an INT. QB’s Seneca Wallace and Jarrett Brown both threw a touchdown with only 10 attempts between the two of them, and Brown going 4 for 4. Nothing to write about the Browns rushing game last week as no back ran more than 5 carries in the game.

The Browns lost 24 – 14 to the Eagles last week and their defense looked bad doing it. Eagles QB’s completed damn near everything they threw against the Browns secondary. Michael Vick threw for 10 completions on 18 attempts for 98 yards no INT, and Vince Young completed 9 passes out of 12 for 58 yards no INT. The Browns defense also gave up a combined 147 rushing yards to the Eagles runningbacks.

My Prediction: While these fourth week preseason games are tough to call as the teams are trying to thin their rosters, and trying to see as much as they can from their young players before doing so. With this said I still cannot choose the Browns over the Bears screw the +1 point and bet on Chicago on the moneyline when it is posted later in the day.
