NFL Betting Predictions: Chicago Bears vs Green Bay Packers
With NFL Football in full swing we have a great Thursday night matchup between the Chicago Bears traveling to take on the Green Bay Packers at famous Lambeau Field. BetDSI Sportsbooks current live lines display the Packers as -6 point favorites over the Bears with a over / under of 51 points (-110).
Last week at home Soldier Field the Chicago Bears rolled the Colts 41-21 as their offense looked stellar with Jay Cutler finally getting a respectable receiver after being reunited with Brandon Marshall. Cutler threw 21 completions on 35 attempts for 333 yards and 2 touchdowns to one interception.
The one two punch of Matt Forte and Michael Bush was on display and looked great. Forte had 16 carries 80 yards with a score, and 3 receptions out of the backfield for 40 yards. Michael Bush was a their main goal line threat running 12 times for 42 yards and two scores.
Chicago’s defense was also on their game as they grabbed three interceptions while getting to the quarterback for three sacks and forcing two fumbles. DT Henry Melton had the two sacks while Corey Wooton had the other. Tim Jennings came away with two picks and 28 yards on the returns, while Chris Conte with his one interception ran his back 35 yards.
The Green Bay Packers lost their first game of the season and at home in a grueling matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. Because the Packers couldn’t move the ball on the ground at all, QB Aaron Rodgers threw the ball 44 times completing 30 passes for 303 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 1 interception.
For the Packers defense that vowed in the off-season to play better to match their dominant offense, they certainly didn’t show much in giving up 30 points to San Francisco’s ball control offense. Clay Matthews was game with 2.5 sacks, and Charles Woodson had a sack and a half forcing a fumble. AJ Hawk was all over the field leading the team in tackles with 14, but besides these few stars the defense just didn’t come to play.
Even though the Chicago Bears played stellar last game and this should be a closely contested game, I do not see the Packers losing two at home in consecutive weeks. Look for the Green Bay Packers to win this one at home, and may even cover the -6 point spread winning by a touchdown.
