NFL Betting Predictions: Chicago Bears vs Minnesota Vikings

What a tough year for both these clubs as the Chicago Bears close out the season on the road to play the Minnesota Vikings. BetDSI Sportsbook current Live Lines display the Minnesota Vikings as -1 point favorites over the Chicago Bears.

The Minnesota Vikings have had a rough year, and last week was no exemption even in a 33-26 win over the Redskins they lost Adrian Peterson to a nasty leg injury, and their starting rookie QB Christian Ponder who was shook up after a hit. QB Joe Webb played great in Ponder’s absence going 4/5 for 84 yards and two touchdowns. If Webb can put up a good start he may win the coaches hearts and get the starting job, or at least contend for it in camp next year. Toby Gerhart has played very well in the carries he receives as he had 11 touches for 109 yards. Percy Harvin also had 4 carries for 39 yards, and 5 catches for 65 yards and a touchdown.

Minnesota’s defense coudln’t keep the points off the board against a week Washington team. They allowed 397 yards, 141 rushing, and 256 passing. LB’s Chad Greenway and EJ Henderson had a boatload of tackles as they had 16 and 15 tackles respectively. Linemen Kevin Williams and the always disruptive Jared Allen both had sacks on the day, while FS Mistrel Raymond had his teams only interception on the day.

The Chicago Bears had a great start to their year, and looked to be making a playoff run this year until starting QB Jay Cutler was injured for the rest of the season. QB Caleb Hanie did not work out so Chicago inserted Josh McCown last week ast starting QB against the Packers in a 35-21 loss. McCown went 19/28 for 242 yards a touchdown and 2 interceptions. With RB Matt Forte still injured, Chicago gave the ball to Kahlil Bell 23 times and he racked up 121 yards. Roy Williams led the team in receiving with 6 catches for 81 yards.

Chicago’s defense was torn apart by Green Bay for 35 points on 363 total yards, 282 passing, and 81 rushing. Only person that showed up to play on the Bears defense was cornerback Charles Tillman who had 6 tackles a sack and a forced fumble. The Packs offense was simply unstoppable, they converted 5/9 on third down and it just appeared like a hopeless matchup for the Bears defense.

My Prediction: The Minnesota Vikings showed they had some explosiveness last week against the Redskins with Joe Webb at QB and running a few plays with Percy Harvin. Meanwhile the Bears played better with Josh McCown at QB than Caleb Hanie, however they were not that good, and I will look for them to fall to the Vikings who will be at home.
