NFL Betting Predictions: Chicago Bears vs Oakland Raiders

Sunday at 4:05 pm Eastern, the Chicago Bears travel to O. Co Coliseum to take on the Oakland Raiders. BetDSI Sportsbook current Live Lines display the Raiders as -150 favorites giving up -3 points to the Bears.

The Oakland Raiders are coming off a very hard fought 27-21 victory over the Vikings. QB Carson Palmer had 17 completions on 23 attempts for 164 yards and a TD. Michael Bush is still a workhorse in RB Darren McFadden’s absence to injury, last week he ran 30 times for 109 yards and a TD. Darrius Heyward-Bey led the team in receiving having 4 catches for 43 yards, and WR Chaz Schilens had the teams only touchdown pass on his only reception of the game.

Oakland’s defense was stout all game except for the 4th quarter where they allowed Minnesota to get within 7 points after scoring two touchdowns. On the day Oakland gave up 311 total yards, 187 passing, and 124 yards rushing. They really gave opposing QB Christian Ponder hell as they had 5 sacks and 3 interceptions pushing .

The Chicago Bears are coming off a huge win against the Chargers 31-20. Jay Cutler really made some beautiful throws going 18/31 for 286 yards, 3 TD’s (one running) and an interception. However this win proved very costly for the Bears as Jay Cutler injured his hand and will be out for the remainder of the season giving QB Caleb Hannie a look. Although not producing alot of yards via the running game the Bears were still able to get a rushing touchdown from Marion Barber and help move the chains a little.

The Bears defense last week gave up 332 total yards, 280 passing, and a low 52 yards rushing. CB Corey Graham and SS Major Wright had an interception apeice, while Charles Tillman led the team in tackles with 7. The Bears did not record a single sack all game but did record two forced fumbles one of which they recovered.

Betting Prediction: Had the Chicago Bears QB Jay Cutler not been hurt last week, I would choose them to beat the struggling San Diego Chargers hands down. However with QB Caleb Hannie starting in the injured Cutler’s absence, I don’t think they will be able to do enough to give the desperate Chargers their sixth consecutive loss.
