NFL Betting Predictions: Cleveland Browns vs Cincinnati Bengals
Neither of these teams had a good first week with the Cincinnati Bengals being blown out by the Ravens and the Cleveland Browns were locked in what would end up a 17-16 bore fest of a loss. BetDSI Sportsbook current live lines display the visiting Benglas as -6 ½ point favorites over the Browns.
Even with the Bengls losing 44-13 in the first week of the season to the Ravens, they have a lot to look forward to with this young offense. Second year Cincinnati QB Andy Dalton had a rough day not throwing a touchdown in 37 attempts, being sacked 4 times, and throwing an interception.
However running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis has appeared to be a good pick up and may end up filling the roll better than departed back Cedric Benson. Ellis had 18 carries for 91 yards, a 5.1 yards per a carry and a touchdown. Sophomore wide receiver Andrew Hawkins outshined A.J. Green with 8 receptions 86 yards, Green ended up with 5 catches for 70 yards on the day.
Only two players are worthy of mention on the Bengals defense in their 44-13 loss, defensive tackle Geno Atkins who had two sacks, and Thomas Howard who had three tackles and got to the QB one time for a sack.
The Cleveland Browns brass must be scratching their heads thinking “ what the heck happened “ in their week one loss against the Eagles. Their first round top five pick HB Trent Richardson looked down right awful running 19 times for 39 yards a 2.1 yards per carry, their first round 28 year old rookie QB looked even worse. Throwing 35 times for only 12 completions, a measly 118 yards, a whopping 4 interceptions and was sacked twice.
Now this is to take nothing away from the Browns defense who is better than most people realize. They kept the supposed high powered Philadelphia Eagles offense and held them to only 17 points. They were ball hawks with four interceptions and got to Eagles QB Michael Vick twice. However one of their best players Joe Hayden will serve a four game suspension for failing a screening, and will not be available against the Bengals.
The Cincinnati Bengals even after a worse beating in week one than the Cleveland Browns received, are still in better shape. They have way more play-makers on offense and that defense that was blown out by the Ravens will look much better against the anemic offense of the Browns. Take the Bengals minus the points over Cleveland.
