NFL Betting Predictions: Dallas Cowboys at New England Patriots
This Sunday at 4:15pm Eastern, the Dallas Cowboys (2-2) travel to take on the New England Patriots (4-1). BetDSI Sportsbook Live Lines currently have the New England Patriots as a -6 1/2 point favorites over the Cowboys.
New England has been off to a killer start this year with their only loss coming in a heart breaker to the Buffalo Bills. Last week the Pats beat the New York Jets 30 to 21 at home, with the offense really clicking. QB Tom Brady threw 24 completions on 33 attempts for 321 yards a TD and INT. While the running game really picked up RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis rushing for 136 yards, he had been hampered by an injury this week and was limited in practice. This will be a great opportunity to see what rookie RB Stevan Ridley has in him.
The Patriots defense hasent been great at keeping points off the board, and if it wasent for such a potent offense they would be in dire trouble. Hopefully for the Patriots LB Jerrod Mayo is back this week, and if not LB Gury Guyton will probably see a bunch more playing time. There was alot of talk among experts on how the Patriots should make a move before the trade deadline ( end of week 6) to make a move for a good pass rusher, and most definitely a DB.
The Dallas Cowboys are coming off of a heart breaking loss to the Detroit Lions, where the Cowboys were up 17 points by halftime, just to blow it big time in the second half. QB Tony Romo playing with busted ribs and wearing a Kevlar vest made some crucial mistakes in throwing 3 interceptions that were the difference in the game. Take away those three lousy decisions and Romo played another hell of a game while injured, throwing 34 completions on 47 attempts for 3 TD’s.
Tony Romo takes alot of heat, but the Cowboys organization and especially the Boy’s fans need to understand that they have a winning QB, and things could be far worse . Romo has all the tools to succeed he just needs a little better decision making and things will look alot brighter in Dallas. Also someone that can cover a receiver would be nice as last week Calvin Johnson caught a game winning touchdown during triple coverage.
My Prediction: Dallas coming off a bye will give their QB some much needed rest, however I do not think it will be enough. The Boys are playing in the Patriots Gillette Stadium where the Pats will be looking for their 20th consecutive win there. I dont think the Cowboys have the defense to stop Tom Brady, nor the offense to keep up with him. Look for the Pats to cover the spread.
