NFL Betting Predictions: Dallas Cowboys at New York Giants
What a great matchup for the last week of the NFL season with the Dallas Cowboys traveling to take on their rivals the New York Giants. BetDSI Sportsbook current Live Lines display the Giants as -3 point favorites in this exciting show down for a playoff spot.
The Dallas Cowboys have not had the most stellar season but are still in the playoff race and decide their own fate. Knowing next weeks game would be a playoff deciding game the Cowboys rested QB Tony Romo and runningback Felix Jones after just one series. QB Stephen McGee took over going 24/38 for 182 yards and a touchdown, while Sammy Morris took over carrying the rock doing so 13 times for only 29 yards. Dez Brant led the team in receiving with 6 catches for 62 yards and Miles Austin had 4 catches 40 yards and a touchdown.
Dallas’ defense had difficulty with the Eagles last week as they gave up 20 points on 386 yards, 105 rushing, and 281 yards passing. DB Terrance Newman and DE anthony Spencer led the team with tackles with 6 each. Demarcus Ware had 4 tackles and 2 more sacks bringing his season total up to a ridiculous 18 on the year. No one outside of Ware did much of anything for the Dallas Cowboys defense last week against Philadelphia.
The New York Giants kept their playoff hopes alive last week with a 29-14 win on the road against the Jets. QB Eli Manning had seen better days going only 9/27 for 225 yards a touchdown and an interception. New York has had trouble running the ball all year but last week they did ran the ball with great efficiency with Ahmad Bradshaw running 15 times for 54 yards two touchdowns and Brandon Jacobs 7 carries 42 yards. WR Victory Cruz came out of no where this year for the Giants when they had injuries plague their receiving corp. Cruz last week had another great game post 3 catches for a ridiculous 164 yards 1 touchdown going 99 yards.
Like Dallas’ Ware the Giants have a great pass rusher of their own in DE Jason Pierre-Paul who had two last week bringing his total to 15.5 on the season. DB’s Corey Webster and SS Kenny Phillips both had interceptions. Justin Tuck got back in the sack column while also grabbing up 4 tackles on the day. Chris Canty who played DE in years past has renewed himself at the DT position in the Giants defense and had a sack last week.
My Prediction: What an awesome game for the final week of the season. Nothing is more exciting than a final game of the season in which both teams participating need the win to get to the playoffs and control their own destiny. The New York Giants have home field advantage where they are always tough, and the Dallas Cowboys have not played great football this year. I look for the Giants to do enough in this one to end up playing more football in the New Year.
