NFL Betting Predictions: Denver Broncos at Tennessee Titans
Sunday at 1pm Eastern, the Denver Broncos (1-1) travel to LP Field to take on the Tennessee Titans (1-1). BetDSI.eu http://betdsi.com/live-lines/football currently have the Titans as a -275 favorite giving up -6 1/2 points against the Broncos.
The Tennessee Titans offense has been relying squarely on the shoulders of QB Matt Hasselbeck who has shown he still has some football left in him as he has thrown 51 completions of 76 attempts for a good 67.1% completion rate, 3TD’s and 2 INT’s, for a 94.2 QB rating. WR Kenny Britt has been tearing it up grabbing 14 passes for 271 yards, one of 80 yards, and all of Hasselbeck’s 3 TD’s. What the team probably did not expect through the fist two games is for Chris Johnson to have a 2.3 yards per a carry on 33 attempts, Johnson needs to step it up and take some pressure off an aged Hasselbeck who is outperforming expectations at this point in his career.
The Titans defense have been playing really good, as they kept the Ravens to only 13 points last week as they got an upset win in week two. LB Barret Ruud is the leader of this defense leading the team in tackles (16), the defense as a whole have 5 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, and 2 interceptions. They have stuffed the run really well allowing only average of 64 yards a game and only 3.3 yards per carry.
The Denver Broncos offense has managed to put up points but still lacks explosiveness and ability to win games. QB Kyle “check down” Orton has 39 completions on 71 attempts, for 499 yards, 3 TD’s and 1 Int, good for a pedestrian 85.4 QB rating. The Bronco’s running attack has been below mediocre with Willis McGahee leading the way on 32 carries only 104 yards for a terrible 3.3 yards per carry. Kyle Orton does lack a big time receiving threat as Brandon Lloyd appeared to have a freak year last season , and so far this year only has 6 receptions for 89 yards 0 TD’s. WR Eric Decker has been a surprise grabbing 8 passes for 166 yards a huge 20.8 yards per reception and 2 TD’s.
The Broncos defense also is to blame for the Broncos being a 1-1 team despite putting 20+ points up in the first two weeks. The defense has a measly 3 sacks with almost no pass rush at all they have not pressured the opposing QB into mistakes , they have not grabbed a single interception yet. Although they get chewed up against the passing attack they do have a knack of stopping the run allowing on average only 59 rushing yards a game a 4.4 yards per a carry.
My Prediction: I expect the Titans to win this one , I do not know if they will cover such a large spread. However I do think this Bronco defense makes Matt Hasselbeck and the Titans offense look really good for much of this game.
