NFL Betting Predictions: Denver Broncos vs Oakland Raiders
The Denver Broncos are coming off a horrific defeat to the Detroit Lions 45 – 10, in which rookie QB Tim Tebow was brutalized for 7 sacks. Tebow had such a bad game it had the Lions defense saying ” really this is your quarterback ” and the rest of the league’s defensive personnel licking their chops at the possibility of this QB starting against their team. Tebow went 18/39 for a terrible 46.2 completion percentage, 172 yards, and a TD and INT. The yardage Tebow threw for was all mostly in garbage time of the football game, and he also fumbled the ball three times, one of which the Lions recovered and ran in for a TD.
The Broncos defense got absolutely lit up by the Lions for 45 points. The Lions gained 376 total yards, 113 rushing, and 272 passing, gaining touchdown after touchdown from all over the field. The only thing good the Denver Bronco’s defense did well was stop the Lions on 3rd down, allowing Detroit to only convert 4/12, third down conversions.
The Oakland Raiders had offensive woes of their own two weeks ago losing to the Kansas City Chiefs in a shutout 28-0. Raiders QB’s Kyle Boller, and newly acquired (for first round pick) Carson Palmer threw 3 interceptions a piece. The Raiders are hoping after the bye they had this week that Carson Palmer can come in more knowledgeable of the offense, and be more prepared to play against the Denver Broncos.
The Raiders defense didn’t play as awful as their offense, half the points Oakland gave up was by their offense via interception returns. In all the Raiders defense gave up 300 total yards to the Chiefs, 139 rushing, and 161 passing, in a game where Kansas City’s offense didn’t have to do much for the win.
My Prediction: The Raiders and fans are certainly hoping for a resurgence to QB Carson Palmer’s career, and maybe with the bye week for him to get ready, will see improvements. The Bronco’s are hoping Tim Tebow can look more like a QB instead of a glorified RB, and that he can play at even half the level in which he gets talked up by his fans.
I see the Raiders winning a close one , I’d take the Bronco’s with the +7 1/2, as the Raiders offense looked awful before their bye.
