NFL Betting Predictions: Denver Broncos vs San Diego Chargers
Sunday the Denver Broncos travel to Qualcomm Stadium to take on the San Diego Chargers. BetDSI Sportsbook current Live Lines display the Chargers as a -250 favorite giving up -5 1/2 points to the Chargers.
The Denver Broncos are coming off a spectacular 17-13 comeback victory of the Jets with Rookie QB Tim Tebow driving his team 95 yards for a touchdown. Tim Tebow threw 9 completions on 20 attempts for 104 yards, and also led the game in rushing running 8 times for 68 yards and a TD. As for the rest of the Broncos offense they did not fair so well, RB Willis McGahee ran the ball 12 times for only 18 yards, and WR Demaryius Thomas led the team in receiving with only 2 receptions for 37 yards.
This Denver Broncos defense has been playing so very improved this year. With thier rookie LB Von Miller being a huge draft pick with 9.5 sacks and 3 forced fumbles already on the year. Last week Miller had another 1.5 sacks with DE Elvis Dumervil also getting 1.5. The Broncos gave up 318 total yards to the Jets, 235 passing, and 83 rushing.
The San Diego Chargers suffered a terrible 31-20 defeat at the hands of the Bears last weekend. QB Phillip Rivers threw 21 completions on 31 attempts for 280 yards, 2 TD’s and 2 INT’s. The Chargers failed to spark up any running game with Ryan Matthews leading the team with only 37 yards. Vincent Jackson had another huge game receiving grabbing 7 catches for 165 yards and a TD.
With their fifth consecutive loss last week the San Diego Chargers are close to being in dire straights. Against the Bears they allowed 378 total yards, 92 rushing, and 286 passing. Also allowing Chicago to convert 57% of thier 3rd downs (8/14). CB Antonie Cason make a huge interception returning it 64 yards to put his team in scoring position, but instead of scoring Phillip Rivers threw a costly interception.
Betting Prediction: The Denver Broncos have simply been winning, it may not be pretty but they are winning none the less. The Chargers have been flopping, and are probably a couple more losses from a coaching change, as winning coaches get fired in San Diego (think Marty Shottenheimer) nevermind losing coaches. Take the Denver Broncos who seem to never been out of a game against the struggling San Diego Chargers.
