NFL Betting Predictions: Green Bay Packers at San Diego Chargers
This Sunday in San Diego the Chargers (4-3) will host the unbeaten defending superbowl champions the Green Bay Packers (7-0). BetDSI Sportsbook current Live Lines display the Packers as a -250 favorite, giving up -5 1/2 points to the Chargers.
The San Diego Chargers are coming off a heartbreaking loss in overtime to the Kansas City Chiefs by a field goal earlier this week on Monday Night Football. Chargers QB Phillip Rivers dropped a snap on the game deciding drive to put the game in overtime, until then he wasent doing much to win his team the game, going 26/41 for 369 yards but throwing no TD’s and 2 INT’s. RB Ryan Matthews had 13 carries for 57 yards, and RB Curtis Brinkley had 10 for 43 and a touchdown.
The Chargers defense played well, holding the Chiefs to 341 total yards, 247 passing, and 94 rushing yards. Safety Eric Weddle is having a breakout season, he has 5 interceptions on the year, and had 2 against the Chiefs on Monday. The San Diego defense also had 3 sacks and forced 2 fumbles against the Kansas City.
The Green Bay Packers are still undefeated at 7-0 on the year, and alot of that has been because this offense seems unstoppable. With QB Aaron Rodgers tearing it up on a weekly basis it is really hard to earn a win against this packer team. Last week the Pack had a bye, the week before they beat the Minnesota Vikings 33 – 27. Aaron Rodgers had a field day going 24/30 for 335 yards and a 3 TD’s against Minnesota. Runningback James Starks who has come out of no where this season, rushed 13 times for 75 yards good for an impressive 5.8 yards per carry.
The Packers defense was not impressive against the Vikings who have had offensive woes all season. The Pack D let up 435 total yards, an insane 218 rushing yards, and 217 passing. Green Bay had two sacks supplied by star LB Clay Matthews, and DT B.J. Raji. Future hall of fame CB Charles Woodson had two interceptions against the Vikings rookie QB Christian Ponder.
My Prediction: I believe the Green Bay Packers continue their unbeaten streak against the struggling San Diego Chargers. Being the Chargers are a really good team and have been keeping games close, I don’t know if betting the Packers over the spread is as good as a Green Bay moneyline wager here.
