NFL Betting Predictions: Houston Texans vs Cincinnati Bengals
This weekend the Houston Texans travel to Paul Brown Stadium to take on the Cincinnati Bengals. BetDSI Sportsbook current Live Lines show the Bengals as -145 favorites giving up -3 points to the Texans.
The Cincinnati Bengals were shelled last week 35-7 by the Pittsburgh Steelers. Rookie QB Andy Dalton had an error free game but not generating much with 11/24 135 yards and a touchdown. Cedric Benson has been mediocre all year, and last week he did not disappoint running 13 times for 52 yards. Rookie WR A.J. Green clearly had the best day with 6 receptions for 87 yards and a TD, with one of the catches going 43 yards.
The Bengals defense was hit up for 295 total yards, 136 rushing, and 159 passing, resulting in four total touchdowns two by air and two rushing by the Steelers. Linebacker Rey Maualuga led the team with 6 tackles, and three different players came away with sacks on the day against Pittsburgh. Make no mistake about it this defense was trampled, and even the special teams got hit up for a touchdown on a punt return.
The Houston Texans won their sixth straight game last week against the Falcons. They did so with their 3rd string Rookie QB T.J. Yates who went 12/25 for 188 yards and a touchdown. Arian Foster had 31 carries for 111 yards a touchdown, and also had 3 catches for 41 yards. Runningback Ben Tate has complemented Foster great in the running game, and continued to do so last week having 11 carries for 41 yards.
Houston’s defense played great against Atlanta giving up only 10 points on 337 total yards, 267 passing, and 70 rushing. Defensivebacks Kareem Jackson and Jason Allen both had interceptions. Linebacker Brian Cushing led the team in tackles with six.
My Prediction: The Houston Texans have been playing great football and have adapted to key injuries beautifully all year. The Cincinnati Bengals have played good football very inconsistantly, and may not be able to do enough to contend with the nasty rushing attack of the Texans.
