NFL Betting Predictions: Indianapolis Colts vs Baltimore Ravens
Sunday morning the Indianapolis Colts travel to take on the Baltimore Ravens. BetDSI Sportsbook current Live Lines display the Baltimore Ravens as huge -1400 points favorites over the Indianapolis Colts giving up -16 1/2 points via the spread.
Last week the Baltimore Ravens started a three game winning streak with their 24-10 victory over the Cleveland Browns. In that win QB Joe Flacco threw only 10 completions on 23 attempts for 158 yards. However he didn’t have to throw a pass all game as Ray Rice had a career day running 29 times for 204 yards and a TD. Also Ricky Williams joined in on the action running 16 times for 76 yards and a touchdown
The Ravens defense was dominant last week allowing only 233 total yards, 59 rushing, 174 passing.Browns RB Peyton Hillis was held to only 12 carries 45 yards, and 72 out of the total passing yards allowed were done in two plays. Meaning Baltimore put the clamps down all day long.
The Indianapolis Colts are still without a win after a 31-24 loss last week against the New England Patriots. However they started to show signs of life with their QB change Dan Orlovsky who played really well. Orlovsky went 30/37 for 353 yards, 2 touchdowns and 1 interception. Donald Brown had 14 carries for 41 yards and a TD, while Joseph Addai had 13 touches for 39 yards. WR Pierre Garcon had a spectacular day with 9 receptions 150 yards, and 2 touchdowns.
Indianapolis held the Pats to 362 total yards, 289 passing, and 73 rushing. The Colts actually had a better 3rd down conversion rate 10/15 for 66% compared to New Englands 6/11 54%. Third year defensive tackle Fili Moala had a sack, and apart from that nobody did much of anything on the Colts defense.
Betting Prediction: You simply cannot expect teams to cover such high spreads week in and week out, especially the Baltimore Ravens who play their worst ball against sub-par teams. The Colts showed signs of life last week, I think the Ravens will win, however will not put Indy away by 17 points.
