NFL Betting Predictions: Miami Dolphins at San Diego Chargers
The Miami Dolphins offense has been very ineffective as QB Chad Henne has struggled to stay one TD above his INT number, 4 TD’s 3 INT’s on the year. Last week against the Cleveland Browns Henne threw 19 completions on 29 attempts for a TD and INT. Rookie RB Daniel Thomas did what he could carrying the ball 23 for 95 yards a longest of 9 yards, and also caught 3 passes for 27 yards and a TD.
The Dolphins defense against a below average Browns offense did not manage a single sack and only meaningful stat they made was a single interception. They failed to stop the Browns on a final drive of 80 yards which resulted in a TD, and lost them the game by a single point. If this keeps up coach Tony Sporano maybe looking for a job very soon.
The San Diego Chargers offense was not good at all last week against an underachieving Kansas City team. QB Phillip Rivers completed 24 passes on 38 attempts for 266 yards however 0 TD’s and 2 INTs. RB Ryan Matthews has been coming into his own this season and last week continued to shine as he rushed 21 times for 98 yards and 2 TD’s. WR Vincent Jackson is still the man and last week led the team with 5 catches for 63 yards.
The Chargers defense came up big on a final drive against the Chiefs offense, as safety Eric Weddle came through with a huge game ending interception to seal the game. However apart from that they did not show a good pass rush at all getting only 1 sack. The coverage was good most of the game, and the passes Chiefs QB Matt Cassel did complete were excellent catches by the receivers.
My Prediction: Even with the Chargers underperforming last week, and the Dolphins playing better on the road than at home. I think the Chargers will come out to make a statement at home against a bad Miami Dolphins team. Look for the Chargers to cover on this one.
