NFL Betting Predictions: Miami Dolphins vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Tonight at 7:30 pm Eastern, preseason warriors the Miami Dolphins (2-0) travel to take on the Tampa Bay Buccanneers (1-1) at Raymond James stadium. The Buccaneers are a -170 favorite giving up -3 points in the spread to the Miami Dolphins.

The warriors of the preseason the Miami Dolphins offense have accumulated (per game averages) of 24 points (4th), 339 total yards (9th), 225 passing yards (8th), and 113 yards on the ground (16th). The Dolphins starting QB Chad Henne has been serviceable completing 19 passes out of 32 attempts for 271 yards 1 TD against 2 INT’s for a QB rating of a not so great QB rating of 71.2. Backup Matt Moore has proven to be a capable back up throwing for 17 completions on 28 attempts for 196 yards, 2 TD’s , and only 1 INT for a QB rating of 90.8.

The fins defense have held opponents to (Per game average) of 16.5 points (15th), 266 total yards (8th), 180 passing yards (11th), and a low 86 yards on the ground (5th). With the Dolphins secondary getting 2 int’s and the defense getting to the QB for 4 sacks this preseason the Dolphins defense has looked good.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers offense has not been spectacular but still putting points up none the less totaling (per game averages) of 19.5 points per game (14th), 298 total yards (21st), 197 passing yards (15th), and 101 rushing yards (24th). As I have stated there is nothing flashy about this offense but Josh Freeman is a young game QB that can pull his team up from behind in any given game.

The Bucs defense has been better than their offense allowing only (per game averages) 15 points (14th), 260 total yards (5th), 117 passing yards (1st), 143 yards on the ground (28th). The Tampa Bay defense has gotten to the opposing QB a staggering eight times this preseason in just two games.

I think the Bucs may give the Fins their first loss of the preseason if they harass Chad Henne and co. behind the center enough. It maybe close so I would get my money on the Buccaneers at -170 money line while the under of 36 and 1/2 seems far too good to pass up.
