NFL Betting Predictions: Minnesota Vikings at Chicago Bears

Sunday night the Minnesota Vikings (1-4) travel to take on the Chicago Bears (2-3). BetDSI Sportsbook Live Lines currently have have the Bears as a -2 1/2 point favorite over the Vikings.

The Minnesota Vikings have had a hell of a tough time winning games this year, they only have one victory to show in their first 5 games, and that came solely upon the legs of RB Adrian Peterson. QB Donovan McNabb’s better years appear to be far behind him, as he has been about as mediocre of a QB as you could possibly get. McNabb last week completed only 10 passes out of 21 for a terrible 47.6% completion rate, 0 TD’s 0 INT’s and only took 1 sack. If he keeps up this terrible play how much longer can the Vikings brass keep rookie QB Christian Ponder on the bench?

It is not as if the Vikings defense hasent been showing up to play ball, as they have 16 sacks on the season and a really high 6 interceptions. DE Jared Allen is as good as ever, so far this season he has tallyed up 8.5 sacks and forced a fumble, he is so disruptive to opposing offenses. With so much attention dedicated to stop Allen it would come to no surprise that someone else on this defensive line would shine, that person is DE Brian Robinson who has 4.5 sacks on the year.

I feel bad for Chicago Bears QB Jay Cutler, if there is any QB in the league that will have their career shortened by his offensive line’s inability to protect it will be Cutler. Jay Cutler has been getting hit all season long and last week against the Lions was no exception. Cutler was sacked 3 times , and in between running for his life and picking his butt off the field after getting hit , he played great. He threw for 28 completions on 38 attempts for a TD, which is all really impressive considering he did alot of it on his own arm and legs, running away from pressure to get a little more time.

The Bears defense didn’t do much last week to stop the Lions from walking into the endzone, as they put up 24 points. Lions QB Stafford almost had a field day throwing 19 completions on 26 attempts for 219 yards, only mistake was throwing one INT. The Bears couldn’t even stop the Lions ( worst rushing offense in the league) from running wild , as Javid Best ran 12 times for a ridiculous 163 yards and a TD.

My Prediction: The Bears had a hell of a time last week against the Lions but I expect them to get back on track here against this bad Vikings team. Look for the Bears to cover the spread easily in this affair.
