NFL Betting Predictions: Minnesota Vikings vs Green Bay Packers
On Monday Night Football the Minnesota Vikings (2-6) travel to Lambeau Field to take on the undefeated Green Bay Packers (8-0). BetDSI Sportsbook current Live Lines display the Packers as huge -750 favorites giving up -13 points to the Vikings.
The Green Bay Packers offense has been lighting up scoreboards week in and week out. Currently their offense is ranked (league rank), 34.4 points per game (1st), 416 yards per game (4th), 312 passing yds per game (3rd). Last week QB Aaron Rodgers added another ridiculously well played game under his belt completing 21 of 26 passes for 247 yards and 4 touchdowns in a shootout victory 45-38 over the Chargers.
Last week the Green Bay Packers defense gave up a bunch of points against San Diego (38). They allowed 460 total yards, 375 passing, and 85 rushing. However they did come up with some big plays to help them seal the victory. The Green Bay Packers defense had 2 sacks, 3 interceptions, and a forced fumble. Two of the interceptions went back for touchdowns keeping the Packers undefeated so far this season.
The Minnesota Vikings grabbed their second win of the season last week against the Panthers 24-21. Rookie QB Christian Ponder had the best game of his career throwing 18 completions on 28 attempts 236 yards and a TD. RB Adrian Peterson was making plays all day long last week, rushing the ball 20 times for 83 yards, 1 TD, and 5 receptions for 76 yards and a TD.
The Vikings defense did just enough last week to get the win with a Carolina shanked field goal. The Minnesota defense gave up 405 total yards, 265 passing, and 140 rushing. They did however manage to force two Cam Newton fumbles for turnovers.
My Betting Prediction: Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers at home against the Minnesota Vikings seems like a clear cut choice. However is any team really a +550 underdog? ( Rams / Saints anyone?). I like the over of 50 points in this contest, and the spread isnt entirely too high for the Packers to cover.
