NFL Betting Predictions: Minnesota Vikings vs Indianapolis Colts

Here we have a battle of two young QB’s as the Minnesota Vikings Christian Ponder travel to take on Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts. BetDSI Sportsbook current live lines display the Vikings as -1 1//2 point favorites over the Colts.

If Vikings Christian Ponder steps up to the next echelon of QB play this season the very first game of 2012 will mark when it started. In the first game of the season a 26-23 overtime victory against the Jaguars, Ponder displayed poise like he has never shown before completing 20 of 27 passes for 270 yards and no interceptions.

The big story however was the come back of star running back Adrian Peterson who took only 8 months to overcome a major leg injury. He couldn’t have looked more phenomenal in his come back game running the ball 17 times for 84 yards and two touchdowns.

Indianapolis Colts QB Andrew Luck looked every bit a rookie in his first game as he threw the ball 45 times completing 23 for 309 yards, a touchdown, and an interception. His offensive line did not help very much as he felt pressure all game.

The Colts defense looked as bad in their debut as they did last season, and will not help that sack specialist DE Dwight Freeney was injured last week. They could not stop the run nor the pass and the only defensive performance worth noting is Robert Mathis as the veteran is still a threat on defense coming away with two sacks in the first game of the season.

Look for Andrew Luck to look more like the number one pick of the draft in this game and win it for the Colts at home against the Vikings. Minnesota’s star runningback Adrian Peterson has shown he has fully recovered taking over last week’s game, and DE Jared Allen can give any QB troubles. Regardless I have the Colts offense looking much better this week for the win.
