NFL Betting Predictions: New England Patriots vs Philadelphia Eagles
Today the New England Patriots travel to Lincoln Financial Field to take on the Philadelphia Eagles. BetDSI Sportsbook current Live Lines display the Patriots as -150 favorites giving up -3 points to the Eagles.
The New England Patriots are coming off a 34-3 beating of the Kansas City Chiefs. Tom Brady played excellent going 15/27 for 234 yards and 2 touchdowns. Runningback BenJarvis Green-Ellis ran 20 times for 81 yards while rookie RB Shane Vereen had 8 rushes for 39 yards and a TD. TE Ron Gronkowski had a heck of a day with 4 receptions for 96 yards and 2 TD’s. WR Julian Edelman played a little bit of defense in this game, and also had a sick 72 yard touchdown punt return.
The Patriots defense looked dominant in only giving up 3 points on 334 total yards, 209 passing, and 125 rushing. The Pats defense had 3 sacks and 3 interceptions on the day causing all sorts of problems for Kansas City. Jerod Mayo led the team with 11 tackles, and CB Kyle Arrington had 4 tackles and 2 interceptions.
Last week the Philadelphia Eagles kept their playoff hopes alive beating the Giants 17-10. QB Vince Young played good in Vick’s absence but needs to take better care of the football. Young threw 23 completions on 36 attempts for 258 yards 2 TD’s and 3 INT’s. LeSean MCoy is still tearing it up this season, against the Giants he had 23 carries for 113 yards, a longest of 60 yards.
The Eagles defense played great last week allowing only 10 points on 278 total yards, they held New York to only 29 rushing yards, and 249 passing. In total they had 3 sacks on the day, and interception an a forced fumble. Linebacker Jamar Chaney led the defense with 6 tackles and an interception, and DE John Babin had 3 tackles and a sack.
Betting Predictions: It is hard to take the Philadelphia Eagles over the New England Patriots with Vince Young starting again and their inconsistent play. I think the Patriots will cover the spread easily this week putting a beating on the Eagles ending their playoff aspirations.
